TEXAS FARM FEEDMILL
Texas Farm Feed Mill is a related development to the $100 +
million pork production farms. Texas Farm Feed Mill represents a
value-added agriculture enterprise. With an investment exceeding
$10 million, the mill employs 15 full time employees. Texas
Agriculture Commissioner Susan Combs and State Representative
David Swinford were on hand with more than 400 local farmers and
community leaders for the Grand Opening. Initially the Texas Farm Feed Mill
is manufacturing semi-loads of pelleted hot feed daily and most
of the feedstuffs are purchased within a 60-mile radius.
Incentives
Used: No incentives were used for this project; however,
initially the county gave a 50% tax abatement for five years for
the first four production farms that were built. The community
worked together for a Texas Capital Fund Grant to assist
building all weather roads at two farm locations.
