County can be divided into six basic soil types. A brief
description of each follows.

Pullman Soils (PU) cover approximately 287,000 acres, or
49.48% of the county (85% Pullman, 15% other)

Richfield-Mansker Soils (RM) Cover approximately 150,000
acres, or 25.6% of the county (60% Richfield, 259/0 Mansker, 15%
other).

Mansker-Berthoud-Potter Soils (MBP) Cover approximately
70,000 acres, or 11.9%, of the county (40% Mansker, 25%
Berthoud, 20% Potter, 10% other).

Richfield-Ulysses Soils (RU) Cover approximately 45,000
acres, or 7.7%, of the county (60% Richfield, 250m Ulysses, 15%
other).

Potter Soils-Rough Broken Land (PR) Cover approximately
25,000 acres, or 4.3%, of the county (45% Potter, 25% rough
broken land, 30% other).

Bippus-Spur Soils (BS) Cover approximately 3,000 acres,
or 0.5%, of the county (55% Bippus, 15% Spur, 30% other).
